Ms. Cynthia L. Kilgus of Bamberg, S.C., and Mr. and Mrs. Brent Anson Wise of Little River, S.C., announce the engagement of their daughter, Betty Marianne Wise, to Clark Caffery Fletchinger, son of Ms. Catherine Rogers Fletchinger and Mr. Daryl Caffery Fletchinger of New Orleans.

The nuptial mass will be held at the St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans on Fri., Oct. 6, 2017, at 7 p.m.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Clemson University, and Louisiana State University School of Law. She is an attorney with Deutsch Kerrigan, LLP in New Orleans.

She is the granddaughter of Betty Scott Kilgus of Bamberg and the late Carl Lane Kilgus Sr., Elizabeth Grimes Wise, and the late Doris Jones Wise and Harold Lloyd Wise of Andalusia, and Virginia Ann Rhoden and the late Charles Edwin Rhoden of Harlem, Ga.

Mr. Fletchinger attended Loyola University in New Orleans, and is the production manager of Plush Appeal and the Mardi Gras Spot in New Orleans.

He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Lacey (Jeanne) of Miami and the late Mr. and Mrs. Milton Lawrence Fletchinger (Rose) of New Orleans.
