Officers seek help after county stores burglarized

Covington County sheriff’s deputies and officers of the River Falls Police Department are investigating a burglary at the Gitty Up N Go convenience store in River Falls, and deputies also are investigating a similar burglary at the Carolina Grocery.
Officers went to the River Falls scene Sunday morning in response to a burglary alarm, and found someone had stolen a sum of money, and damaged business equipment.
Video surveillance shows two male subjects wearing masks entering the business, as well at least a third subject operating a vehicle to flee the scene.
Shortly after this business burglary, a second business burglary occurred at Carolina Grocery on U.S. 29 South of Andalusia. The two burglaries are believed to be related.
The case is currently under investigation by the Covington County Sheriff’ss Office and the River Falls Police Department. Officers are asking for the public’s assistance in any information about the case. Please contact the CCSO at 428-2640 or The RFPD at 222-3510 if you have any information.
