The Andalusia Animal Shelter is holding its first ever Mutt-Butt Wash on Sat., Aug. 26, at 10 a.m.

The animal shelter will accept monetary donations and will in turn provide dogs with a bath and (if they can behave through it) will also trim the dogs’ nails, said Animal Shelter employee Kayla Cleland.

“We invite everyone with or without pooches to come on out and donate to the AAS medical fund,” said Christin Ball of the shelter. “We will be out washing away all the mud, dirt and unhappiness from your furry friends.”

The animal shelter will also be doing animal adoptions as a part of the Mutt-Butt Wash.

Donations received will go to different necessities for the animal shelter, including vaccines and supplies for the animals and the shelter.

The event will go on until 2 p.m.

For more information call the Andalusia Animal Shelter at 334-222-8705.

The animal shelter is located at 101 Coliseum Ave.

“You will leave with a great smelling pup and joy in your heart for donating to such a worthy cause,” Ball said. “It’s strictly donations, but we would like it to at least be $5 and better. So come on out and bring your family and let’s have a ‘pawty’ and get some relief from these dog days of summer.
