A shooting at a field party near Hartford left a Covington County teenager seriously wounded Saturday night, WTVY reported yesterday.
Geneva County Sheriff Tony Helms said two people were fighting when someone pulled a gun and fired a shot. A second person pulled another gun and fired two more shots.
A 17-year-old boy from Opp who was watching the fight was shot in the neck.
He was taken to an Enterprise hospital and later transported to a hospital in Mobile. He is currently listed in good condition.
Helms says social media helped officers to identify suspects in the case.
19-year-old Anthony Carter of New Brockton was booked in the Geneva County jail on two counts of reckless endangerment.
Meanwhile, 21-year-old Matthew Oberley of Panama City is being held in the Bay County Jail for attempted murder.
The investigation is ongoing, he said.
