Run for God Andalusia will launch its sixth class for beginners next weekend.

The 12-week faith based program takes a person from non-runner to a 5K or 10K runner, depending on the program the runner chooses.

The first session is set for 7:30 a.m. on Sat., Sept. 9, at the First Baptist Church student building in downtown Andalusia. Students will register for the program and be introduced to its plan, and should come dressed for jogging. There is no registration fee.

Lessons – or training sessions – begin with one-minute runs, and work participants up to be able to compete in a 5K or 10K.

Sessions are set for 5 p.m. p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 7:30 a.m. on Saturdays. All runs begin at the student building.

Instructors for Session 6 include Don Cotton, Tammy Cross, Lori Messick, Tim and Amanda Worley.
