Couple charged for stolen truck, meth

Florala Police over the holiday weekend arrested a pair for meth and stealing a vehicle from Florida.

Police Officer Greg Jackson said that FPD officers stopped a white Nissan Truck on Lakeshore Boulevard for driving on the wrong side of the road.

Jackson said the vehicle had two occupants, neither of whom had identification on them.

It was revealed that the occupants were Brandon L. Ganey of DeFuniak Springs and Asilynn N. Vaughn of Lockhart.

Jackson said the truck came back stolen out of Fort Walton Beach, and they found methamphetamine and syringes in the vehicle.

Jackson said that Ganey was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and taking stolen property across state lines. He was booked into the Covington County Jail on a $23,000 bond.

Vaughn was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia and was booked into the county jail on a $13,000 bond.

Jackson said the FPD has been in contact with the Fort Walton Beach Police Department and the vehicle has been returned.
