Andalusia High School’s club, the Student Government Association, is doing their part in spreading kindness and unselfishness throughout Andalusia.

“A Random Act of Kindness” is the SGA’s attempt to do just that.

The SGA performs “A Random Act of Kindness” by randomly going to places throughout Andalusia and giving a gift to somebody.

The gifts are things such as candies, cookies, candles, or anything else that will make someone smile.

SGA president Callen Woodard said that it is something the club has been doing for a few years now, but it really wanted to make it a point of emphasis this year.

“We tried to really get it in motion more last year,” Woodard said. “This year we wanted to make it a real focus.”

The SGA did its first “Random Act of Kindness” yesterday, and plan to do one the first Tuesday of every month.

“We take it to specific places, sometimes,” Woodard said. “Other times we will just leave it somewhere for someone random to find.”

The gifts are presented with a card that reads, “Please enjoy this random act of kindness.” The back of the card is marked with the hashtag “#AHSSGApaysitforward.”

“Our goal is just to spread kindness,” Woodard said. “We just want to pay it forward and we hope it continues beyond us.”
