The countdown is on to the annual Extreme Experience Retreat Event for blind and low vision people, and there is still room left.
“We know everybody is excited about all of our activities and workshops during our Extreme Experience Retreat Event,” said organizer Wanda Scroggins. “Including in your EER all inclusive package Sun., Sept. 24 – Wed., Sept. 27, all of your lodging, meals, training and entertainment.”
Scroggins said that the fellowship is always her favorite part.
“We all share so much laughter and become fast friends for life,” she said. “We become a family. Our family has come together for eight years. Wow. What a family reunion of brothers and sisters all by different mothers. I know this statement will make since when you think about it.”
The camp is held at Blue Lake Camps, 8500 Oakwood Lane, Andalusia.
“We have chosen well-balanced meals with lots of temptations,” he said. “I have to lose weight so I can gain weight when I eat homemade yeast rolls, fresh baked cookies and pecan pie. I hope you are a foodie.”
Scroggins said another one of her favorite parts is the campfire.
“We do have some great instrumentalists, voices, picking and grinning and stories,” she said. “The best is the s’mores. Do you remember making s’mores when you were a child.”
Scroggins said this year’s theme is Groovy Kind of Love and they are taking it back to the 1960s and 1970s.
Those interested in attending, who have not done so, need to make their reservations as soon as possible.
Cost is $200.
