Schools closed, events postponed (as of 2:20 p.m., Sunday)

Per Andalusia City Schools Superintendent ACS will be closed Monday.

Covington County EMA director Susan Harris said in her Sunday update that there is a wind advisory in effect through late Monday generally and east of the I-65 corridor. Conditions will improve late Monday into early Tuesday.

There is also a flash flood threat for Butler, Crenshaw, Covington, and a small part of Wilcox counties, she said.

Andalusia City Schools, Covington County Schools, Opp City Schools, and LBW Community College will be closed on Monday, and all classes are cancelled.

While it is expected that classes will resume on Tuesday, that call will be made on Monday afternoon, officials said.

Both the Sean of the South event planned for LBW on Monday morning, and the Bethesda House fundraiser set for Monday night have been postponed.

Andalusia City Schools also has postponed its budget hearings set for Monday. They will be held on Tuesday.
