Wallace “Pod” Fowler

Mr. Wallace “Pod”Fowler, 86, of Red Level, passed away Mon., Sept. 11, 2017, at Southeast Medical Center in Dothan.

Mr. Fowler is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Evelyn Fowler of Red Level; his sister, Irma Jean Barlow of Castleberry; his sisters-in-law, Kathy Smith of Andalusia and Julia Peavy of McKenzie; his brother-in-law, Charles Gomillion of Red Level; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tues., Sept. 12, 2017, at Brooks Cemetery.

Nadine Lewis Kelley

Nadine Lewis Kelley, 78, of Florala passed away Fri., Sept. 8, 2017.

She was born in Florala on Oct. 3, 1938 to Bruce Kelley and Bonnie Barton Kelley. Nadine enjoyed listening to gospel music and was an avid fisherman. She love to travel and always looked forward to going to the mountains every fall with her daughter, Vickie. She was member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. Nothing was more important to Nadine than her family. She wanted her family to always continue traditions no matter how small, especially during the holidays. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Wilson Lewis and William Kelley; sons, Clint Lewis and Johnny Lewis; grandson, Jeremiah Lewis; father, Bruce Kelley; mother, Bonnie Barton Kelley; and sister, Cristina (Cricket) Partain.
She is survived by her daughter, Vickie Thornton and husband Gary of Andalusia; son, Lavon Lewis of Florala; sister, Barbara Manning and husband Curtis of DeFuniak Springs; grandchildren, Clint Lewis Jr, Danah Lewis, Jaclyn Henley, Rosalee Skoog, Kyle Thornton and Lakin Langford; and six great-grandchildren. She relished being their “Nanny.”
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wed., Sept. 13, 2017, from Evans Funeral Home with Jonathan Shepard officiating. Visitation will be one hour before services. Interment will be in the Lewis Cemetery.
