The Purple Lotus – Down Home Style event cancelled by Irma earlier in the week has been rescheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Tues., Oct. 17.

The event, a fundraiser to further the effort to reopen Bethesda House, Covington County’s domestic violence shelter, features Sean Dietrich and the Boiled Peanut Vendors.

Dietrich is known as “Sean of the South” for his inspirational writings he shares online each day.

The event will be held on the grounds of Springdale, and will include barbecue form Hilltop and cookies designed and baked by Ellen Foreman of Just Simply Gigi. Dress will be casual.

All pre-sold tickets will be honored. Tickets also are available at CCB Community Bank and at SIB Bank in Opp and Andalusia.
