Andalusia natives Michelle Bonam and Marion Bonam Crittenden want to give back to the community and help get adolescents and young adults on the path to success.

Bonam is sponsoring South Alabama Youth Career Conference next Sat., Oct. 14, from 10 a.m. until noon, at the Will Coleman Center.

“When I was growing up, there was no one who came to me and said this is what you should do,” she said. “I wanted to do that for young people.”

Bonam said that there will be speakers from an array of success stories including attorneys, military service people, principals, mental health officials and law enforcement officials.

Kim Staley, Tammy Cross, Jamie Womack, Amos Kilpatrick and Jackie Woods.

“We have all these great people who will be there to talk to our young people,” she said. “I hope they will inspire young people who attend.”

“We will also have career advisors and counselors on hand to jump start your career and future ambitions,” she said.

The event is for youth ages 14-25.

Bonam said those interested in attending just have to show up.

Breakfast, brunch and lunch will be served.
