JIMMIE F. OWENS

Mr. Jimmie F. Owens, age 80, of Andalusia, died Fri., Oct. 20, 2017.

He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth (Landon) Jones of Forsyth, Mo., and his son, Timothy (Bobbie Lynn) Owens of Andalusia; nine grandchildren, Storie Hicks, Joeann Owens, Jenni Luis, Isabela Luis, Jaylin Luis, Gabriela Luis, Steven Jones, Clayton Jones, and Amanda Jones; and one great-grandson, Jasper Jones; his sister, Betty Joyce Henson of Altha, Fla.; his sisters-in-law, Alvie Crutchfield of McKenzie, Corrine Sasser of Andalusia, and Phyllis Sorrells of Opp; and his brother-in-law, Shannon Capps of Andalusia.

He was preceded in death by his wife; Mildred Louise Owens, as well as, by three sons, David Robert Owens, Steve Madison Owens, and Jimmy Wayne Owens.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Tues., Oct. 24, 2017, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Eiland officiating. Interment followed at Fairmount Cemetery in Red Level.   Asked to serve as pallbearers were Steven Jones, Clayton Jones, Randy Sasser and Dominic Sasser.

Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday night at Keahey Funeral Home.

 

LEOTIS GARRETT

Leotis Garrett, age 85, went home to be with the Lord, on Mon., Oct. 23, 2017. He was born Nov. 1, 1931, in Castleberry, Ala. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and he served more 20 years in three different branches of the the U.S. Military over his time in service.

Leotis is survived by his bride of 65 years, Esther Jane; his son, Bobby (Terry); his granddaughter, Jennifer (Scott) and their son Garrett; his grandson, Jayson (Sarah); and brothers, Willie C. and Clyde Garrett.

He was preceded in death by his son, William (Bill) Garrett, as well as brothers and sisters, George, James, Brooks, Betty and Louise.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Fri., Oct. 27, 2017, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Sharpe and the Rev. Nathan Daniels officiating. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at London Baptist Church cemetery in Castleberry.

Pallbearers will be James Jones, John Wallace, Claude Summerlin, Herman Castleberry, Bill Tillman, and Randall Holland.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thurs., Oct. 26, 2017, at Keahey Funeral Home.
