The Opp Bobcats put up a tough fight, but fell 30-18 to the Elba Tigers on Friday night in Elba.

After Elba grabbed the lead out of the gate, a pair of touchdowns from Reggie Thompson had Opp out front 12-8.

Elba scored just before halftime to go on top 16-12.

Ashton Patel put the Bobcats up when he scored from 5 yards out early in the third quarter, but back-to-back scores in the fourth gave the Tigers the win.

“The team played really hard,” Opp head coach Brent Hill said. “I’m really proud of our seniors for not giving up, playing through adversity and injuries. Not the way you want to end a season, but the game will teach them about life down the road.”
