The Opp Bobcats finished tied for fourth place in the Class 3A, Region 2, but fell short of the playoffs.

Opp started off region play strong with a 26-0 win over Straughn, but then went to 1-1 in region play after falling to Wicksburg 41-0.

The Bobcats responded the next week with a 30-19 region win over Houston Academy the following week.

After losing a non-region game to Andalusia, the Bobcats picked up steam and looked like a playoff contender.

The Bobcats traveled to Slocomb and came away with a convincing 35-14 win. Slocomb would go on to be the only team in the region to knock off Wicksburg.

The following week, the Bobcats hosted Providence Christian and came away with a blowout win.

Opp’s region win over Providence had them sitting at 3-1 in region play.

With the playoffs in the grasp, the Bobcats needed to win just one of their final two region games to claim a postseason spot.

Opp traveled to Geneva and went down 29-19 and took a bite out of the playoff hopes.

Opp’s final region game was a back-and-forth affair, but saw the Bobcats go down 30-25 to Daleville. That loss ended any playoff chance Opp would have.
