Straughn High School standout volleyball player, Hannah Lawless, will continue her playing career at the University of Alabama-Huntsville after signing her letter of intent on Thursday afternoon in Straughn,

“Hannah has meant the world to this program,” Straughn head volleyball coach Daniel Rodgers said. “She is probably the hardest working girl that I’ve ever been around. She is gifted with natural ability, but she didn’t sit on that, she worked her tail off to become an elite player. She did that not for herself, but because she knew that it would help our team. She is the same way in the classroom and in her relationship with Jesus. I’m excited for her and happy to see her had work pay off.”

Lawless said that she couldn’t have done it without those closest to her.

“None of this would have been possible if it wasn’t for each and everyone in this room,” Lawless said. “If anyone of them were missing from my life, I wouldn’t be sitting here today. This woman right here (pointing to her mom) is the epitome of sacrifice and love. She has sacrificed a lot for me to be sitting here right now.”
