AHS vs. St. James: By the numbers

The No. 1-ranked Andalusia Bulldogs will host the St. James Trojans on Friday night for round two of the AHSAA Class 4A state playoffs at Andalusia High School.

Here are some facts on both teams coming into the second round of the playoffs.

St. James lost three of its first four ball games to start the season, but have rolled have seven-straight wins since losing to Fultondale in week four.

The Trojans have set a school record for points scored in a season with 432.

Andalusia’s school record for points in a season is 487 and was set in 2016.

The Bulldogs have scored 436 points so far this season.

Andalusia has made the playoffs 23 times in school history and hold a 25-20 playoff record. The Bulldogs are 3-1 all time when playing at home in the second round of the playoffs.

St. James has 21 postseason appearances with a record of 9-20. The Trojans are 0-2 all time when playing on the road in the second round of the playoffs.

This will be the first time that Andalusia and St. James have met in the playoffs.

The two squads have played six regular season games with the Bulldogs holding a 5-1 record over the Trojans.

The last meeting was in 2015 with Andalusia winning 42-25.
