JANE M. WALDEN  

Mrs. Jane M. Walden, 73, of Red Level, passed away on Thurs., Nov. 23, 2017, in a hospital in Pensacola.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. on Sun., Nov. 26, 2017, at New Home Baptist Church in McKenzie. The Rev. Cliff Morris and the Rev. Charles Mitchell will officiate. Special music will be provided by Jewel Mitchell, Pamela Bond, and Ashley Sasser.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to services on Sunday. Keahey Funeral Home is entrusted with services.

Survivors include her daughters, Annette (Jeff) Etheridge of Red Level and Tammy Ezell of Brantley; one brother, Donald Mitchell of Nebraska; sisters, Hazel Mitchell of Red Level; Betty Reynolds of Greenville; grandchildren, Eric Odom, Dusty Odom, Tess Merritt, Drew Nixon, Tatum Taylor, Tristan Taylor; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by Earl Walden, her husband, in 2013.

 

HELEN DAVIS

A celebration service for Mrs. Helen Myrtice Hall Davis, age 86, will be held on Sun., Nov. 26, 2017, at 2 p.m. from Bethany Baptist Church in Heath, Ala., with the Rev.Nathan Daniels, the Rev. Larry Cummings, and the Rev. Kevin Wilburn officiating. Interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services at the church.

Mrs. Davis was born to Walter and Bessie Hall on June 10, 1931, in Straughn, and died on Nov. 23, 2017. She is preceded in death by her parents and by her husband of 66 years, Marion Elmer Davis.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Wallace T. and Barbara Davis of Mobile; daughters and son-in-law, Judy Davis of Mobile and Martha and Buddy Griffin of Lineville, Ala.; seven grandchildren: Joshua (Brooke) Davis of Crestview, Fla., David (Kimberly) Griffin of Lake Charles, La., Mandy (Kevin) Wilburn of Mobile, Lindy Griffin of Nashville, Jarred (Stephanie) Griffin of Lineville, Katy (Steve) Yeend of Daphne, and Judd (Missy) Rew of Mobile; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Era Andrews of Heath; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Myrtice received her bachelor’s degree from Troy University. She received her master’s degree and AA certification from Auburn University. She was a teacher and a librarian for 25 years. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Heath. Myrtice was a part of the ministry of her husband for more than 50 years. We celebrate her life!

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Joshua Davis, David Griffin, Jarred Griffin, Kevin Wilburn, Judd Rew, and Steve Yeend, and her nephew, Kendall Andrews.

The family will accept flowers or memorials may be sent in her honor to the Lottie Moon Offering.
