Point A drawdown almost done
Maintenance on Point A Dam is nearing completion, and PowerSouth plans to allow the lake to begin refilling on Wed., Dec. 13, the company announced Friday.
The lake will refill gradually, as rainfall and incoming water flow from the Conecuh River and Patsaliga Creek allows. Once the lake reaches five feet below normal pool level, PowerSouth plans to raise the lake level approximately one foot per day until the lake approaches normal operating range. It will take one to two weeks for the lake to reach normal pool level, depending on the amount of rainfall in the area.
The drawdown began on Sept. 15, and all public access to the lake was closed for the duration.
