CHASING ANOTHER TITLE: 51st Annual Andy Christmas tourney begins today

The Andalusia Bulldogs look to defend their title starting today in the 51st Annual Andalusia High School Christmas Tournament.

Several local teams fill out this year’s tournament bracket.

Host Andalusia, Florala, Pleasant Home, Red Level and Opp are all slated to participate in the 51st annual Christmas tournament.

Pleasant Home replaced Straughn in this year’s tournament

Florala and Georgiana will start the tournament off with a game at 4:30 p.m.

The next game beginning around 6 p.m., will pit Pleasant Home against Opp.

Andalusia and Red Level wrap up the first night of the tournament with tip off scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

The tournament continues Friday with the loser of the Andalusia/Red Level game taking on the loser of the Pleasant Home/Opp game at 4:30 p.m.

The winner of Florala/Georgiana will take on Greenville Friday at 6 p.m.

The final game on Friday night will feature the winner of Andalusia/Red Level against the winner between Pleasant Home/Opp at 7:30 p.m.

Tournament play concludes on Saturday with games being played at 4:30 p.m., 6 p.m., and the championship game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Andalusia won last year’s tournament by beating Georgiana in the championship game.

Last year Andalusia’s B.J. Anderson won the Bryant-Robertson Tournament MVP award. It was the first year that award adopted the name from two legendary Andalusia coachers (Clayton Bryant and Richard Robertson).

Andalusia returns two players who made last year’s All-Tournament team (Anderson and R.J. Drish).

Georgiana finished second in last year’s tournament, Greenville finished third, Straughn finished fourth, Opp finished fifth, Florala finished sixth and Red Level finished seventh.
