Betty Ann Nordan Teem

Betty Ann Nordan Teem, 83, of Atlanta, passed away Jan. 2, 2018. Betty was a native of Andalusia, where she graduated from Andalusia High School and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She earned her bachelor of arts degree from Auburn University where she was an active member of Phi Mu and the Baptist Student Union. She met her husband, William Milton Teem III, in Auburn, and they were married in 1957. Betty was a dedicated wife and mother who enjoyed tennis, bridge, and volunteer work. Most of all she loved taking her children, grandchildren, and friends to her beloved Destin beach.

Betty was a member of Second-Ponce de Leon Baptist Church where she was in the Friendship Sunday School Class whose members became her dear, lifelong friends. In her later years, she also attended the Anchor Sunday School Class at Peachtree Presbyterian Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents, Mary Wilder Nordan and Walter Frank Nordan; and her brother, Frank Nordan.

She is survived by her children, William Milton Teem IV (Lynn), Walter Nordan Teem (Candace), Lawrence Franklin Teem (Lisa), and Mary Elizabeth Teem; and grandchildren, Kaitlyn Martin Wilson (Jerimiah), Mary Peyton Jones (Hunter), Lawrence Witt Teem, Rebecca Jordan Teem, Ellissa Barrett Teem, Nathanael Wilder Teem, David Milton Teem, and Annalise Ling Teem.

Services were held Fri., Jan. 5, 2018, at H.M. Patterson & Son – Oglethorpe Hill Chapel, Atlanta, followed by a family graveside service at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs, Ga.

Alma “Lisa” Blackman Yarbrough

Mrs. Alma “Lisa” Blackman Yarbrough, age 85, of Andalusia, passed away Sun., Jan. 7, 2018, at Andalusia Hospital.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Waylon (Leigh) Parker of Rose Hill, Rachel (Daniel) Blair of Brewton, and Jeannie (Jamie) Owens of Antioch; her great-grandchildren, Nathaniel (Kayla) Phillips, Austin (Lindsey) Hughes, Falon (Dylan) Parriman, Tiffany Blair, Christian Parker, Skylar Parker, Tyre (James) Anderson, and Tyler Anderson; and two great-great grandchildren, Kinlee Phillips and Emalynn Phillips; two brothers, Jack (Jeannie) Blackman of Damascus, Ala., and James (Mary Bell) Blackman of Indiana; and two sisters, Belle Nelson of Brewton and Ann (Mack) McKinley of Pensacola, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Inez Blackman; two daughters, Sheila Phillips and Juana Cobb; and two grandchildren, Joshua Yarbrough and Courtney Yarbrough.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wed., Jan. 10, 2018, at Damascus Church (County Road 69, Brewton) with the Rev. Derrick Stewart officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Creek Cemetery near Castleberry. Asked to serve as pallbearers are Steve Blackman, Rance Blackman, Daniel Blair, Logan Blackman, Christian Parker, and Jimmy Lee. The family will receive friends one hour prior to funeral services at Damascus Church (10 a.m.).

Ronald James “Ronnie” Brinnon, Jr.

Mr. Ronald James “Ronnie” Brinnon, Jr., age 48, of Andalusia passed away Fri., Jan. 5, 2018, at his residence after a brief illness.

Mr. Brinnon was a native of Pensacola, Fla., and a former resident of Barnett’s Crossroads and Castleberry before moving to Andalusia. He was a machine operator with Shaw Industries and was a member of the New Bethlehem Baptist Church. He was a 1989 graduate of Conecuh County High School.

He is survived by his father, Ronald James Brinnon Sr. of Pensacola, Fla.; uncle, Rayford Smith of Mobile; aunts, Dorothy (Kenneth) Roe of Barnett’s Crossroads, and Earline (Lamar) Crews of Barnett’s Crossroads; uncle, James “Buddy” Smith of Barnett’s Crossroads; aunt, Annie Sellers of Tallahassee, Fla.;aAunt, Imogene Jordan of Toccoa, Ga.; aunt, Deborah Garrett of Atmore; aunt, Mary Ethel Smith of Brewton; cousin, Ben (Brandie) Roe of Barnett’s Crossroads; cousin, Susan Smith of Mobile, Ala,; cousin, Peggy Delmas of Grand Bay, Ala.; cousin, Jon Crews of Barnett’s Crossroads; cousin, Tony Smith of Brewton; cousin, Wanda Smith of Atmore; cousin, Lori Rowe of Tallahassee; cousin, Kevin Sellers of Tuscaloosa; cousin, Minnie Bilbo of Gulf Shores, Ala,; cousin, Gus Smith of Mobile; and cousin, Earl Garrett of McDavid, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ila Mae Smith.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tues., Jan. 9, 2018, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home Inc. with the Rev. Tony Richburg officiating. Interment will follow in New Bethlehem Cemetery with Craver’s Funeral Home Inc. of Brewton Directing.

Visitation will be held Tues., Jan. 9, 2018 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. service time at Craver’s Funeral Home Inc.
