The Straughn Tigers came away with a pair of varsity wins as they swept Slocomb on Friday night in area action.

GIRLS

STRAUGHN 56,

SLOCOMB 50

The Lady Tigers fought back from early deficit to knock off Slocomb 56-50.

Heading into halftime the Lady Tigers trailed 26-21 before a second half comeback led to a 56-50 Straughn win.

Alyssa Dean led the way for the Lady Tigers with 20 points in the win.

Straughn’s Allie Kelley chipped in 17 points.

BOYS

STRAUGHN 55,

SLOCOMB 33

In varsity boys’ action, the Tigers built an early lead and went on to earn a 55-33 victory.

Justin Peeples picked up seven points in the opening period to help push the Tigers out to an early 13-11 lead.

Trent Cleland led the Tigers with 15 points.

Peeples finished the night with 11 points and eight rebounds.

Brantley Kelley earned a double-double after picking up 11 points and 11 rebounds.
