Victims identified in Wednesday afternoon wreck
The Alabama State Troopers have released the identity of a Brewton woman who died in wreck near Pleasant Home Wednesday afternoon.
Tressa Mechell Richards, 42, was killed when the 2003 Pontiac Grand AM, in which she was a passenger, lost control driving over a patch of ice on the roadway and overturned into a creek.
The driver, Norma Jean Jerkins, Brewton, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Andalusia Regional Hospital along with passengers, Regina Kay Stanford and a 6-year old child. Richards was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash occurred on U.S 29, approximately 10 miles south of Andalusia.
The wreck backed up traffic on U.S. 29 until late afternoon.
