County BOE buys 112 acres
The Covington County Board of Education closed on 112 acres of land Friday located off Hwy. 55.
The board approved the purchase last week, with a total purchase price of $275,000.
Superintendent Shannon Driver said he was not ready to talk about the plans for the property, but expected to do so at the board’s February meeting.
He said he had been looking for some time for land that was centrally located. This parcel, he said, was 20 to 25 minutes from each of the system’s schools.
