ELLA QUAY SANDERS

Mrs. Ella Quay Sanders, age 92, of Elba, passed away on Wed., Jan. 24, 2018, at Mizell Memorial Hospital in Opp.

She is survived by her children, Peggy (Curtis) Pouncey of Elba, Becky Sanders of Samson, Wayne (Norma) Sanders of Elba and Donald (Nena) Sanders of Opp; 20 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Mon., Jan. 29, 2018, at Elba First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Dwight Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Elba.

Asked to serve as pallbearers are Wesley Thompson, Shawn Sanders, Dillon Carnley, Clint Adkison, Eliandro Alex King, and Chris Brown. Keahey Funeral Home of Andalusia is in charge of arrangements.

JANETTE APLIN KEITH

Mrs. Janette Aplin Keith, age 90, of Gainesville, Ga., (formerly of Andalusia), passed away on Wed., Jan. 24, 2018, at Lanier Lodge Assisted Living & Memory Care in Gainesville, Ga.   She was a resident and active member of the Andalusia Country Club during the 20 years she lived in Andalusia. She was also a member of Andalusia First United Methodist Church, the El Martes Garden Club and the Inter Se Club, all in Andalusia.

Janette was a very hard worker, and held a few special jobs that she really loved. She first worked, at 19, with the Coca Cola Company in Birmingham. Some of the other places she enjoyed working during her life were Atlanta Oak Flooring, Pioneer Plastics and Bowen Supply. She ended her working career with the DeKalb County School System at the Fernbank Science Center where she worked for more than 20 years in the scheduling department for all the schools in DeKalb County.

She is survived by her children, son, Randy (Paulette) Keith of Canton, Ga., and daughter, Victoria (Michael) Kuczmarski of Gainesville, Ga.; her grandchildren, Shannon (Patrick) O’Hara, Adam Ross Keith, Christina (David) Smith and Kimberly (Brandon) Tolbert; and her great-grandchildren, Lochlan O’Hara, Ross Keith, Kaylee Smith, Hunter Smith, Brody Tolbert, Bo Tolbert and Brooklyn Tolbert.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Leon Keith; her parents, George and Annie Mae Aplin; her brother, George Aplin and her sister, Earline Hall.

Graveside services will be held at 12 p.m. on Mon., Jan. 29, 2018, at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Jason Thrower officiating. Keahey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
