Karlyn Pugh and Derek Franklin announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Kim and John Pugh of Destin, Fla.. She is the granddaughter of Joyce and Ronnie Paul and Dr. Jack Pugh and the late Sandra Pugh.

She is a 2009 graduate of Andalusia High School and earned a degree in human development and family students from Samford University. She is currently employed by Crosspoint Academy.

The groom-elect is the son of Chris Ann and Jimmy Bergschneider of Crestview. He is the grandson of the late Donald and Elizabeth Widmaier.

He is a graduate of Crestview High School and earned a degree in project management and industrial management technology from Northwest Florida State College. He is currently employed by Lockheed Martin.

The wedding will be an event of March 10, 2018.
