Run for God, a class for beginners who are interested in running, will begin Sat., March 3, at 7:30 a.m.

Registration will be at the First Baptist Church student building. Lessons will be every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon 5:45 p.m. and Saturday mornings at 7:30 a.m. at the Student building. There is no registration fee. The instructor for the class will be Jennifer O’Neal.

Participants should be dressed to job at the first meeting.

Run for God started in January of 2010 in a small town in Georgia as a Bible study that paralleled faith and endurance. Its goal was to take those who had never run to their first 5K, all while teaching them to relate the great sport of running to their walk with Christ.

Since being introduced to this area by Jennifer O’Neal, many have walked successfully through these programs. Many have found a new lifestyle and taken part in something that just months prior would have seemed impossible. Others have learned to share the message of Jesus Christ through a sport they now love.

Throughout this 12-week program, participants will hear from others that never thought they could run and have successfully completed the course. They have improved their health, lost weight and some now participate in 5K events. Those who complete class seven will participate in the Sav-A-Life 5K and 10K as the graduation run.

This marks the seventh class in Andalusia.
