The Covington County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that it is investigating a social media threat against Red Level School.
“We are aware of the Facebook post that is being shared,” the department said. “We have investigators working on it. We will update as soon as it is resolved.”
Last week, a child was taken into custody and charged with making terroristic threats and false reporting to law enforcement after the child posted threats on Snapchat threatening W.S. Harlan Elementary School and Florala High School. The Florala Police Department and Covington County Sheriff’s Department worked together on the investigation.
Florala Chief Sonny Bedsole said the child told investigators he or she did not want to go to school, and that’s why the threat was made.
