MARY M. BLACK

Mary M. Black, age 62, of Andalusia, passed away on Tues., Feb. 27, 2018, after courageously battling lung cancer for five and a half years. She was born Oct. 26, 1955, in Ripon, Wis., to Otto F. and Regina Thiel. Mary was employed as a nurse for many years at the Evergreen Medical Center and Mizell Memorial Hospital in Opp, and attended Christ the King Catholic Church in Andalusia. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be truly missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Mary is survived by one daughter, Regina Marie Black of Andalusia; two grandchildren, Parker A. and Autumn E. Black; one brother, David Otto Thiel and wife, Gail of Green Bay, Wis.; two sisters, Ann E. Coleman of Oklahoma and Christine J. Thiel of Wisconsin; nieces and nephews, Jay Colemen and Matthew Coleman and wife Liz, all of Oklahoma, Jennifer Thiel of Wisconsin and Rachel Brugman and husband Rob of Wisconsin; great nieces and nephews, Sammy, Aaron and Lauren Coleman, all of Oklahoma and Kate and Will Brugman, both of Wisconsin.

Services are under the direction of Magnolia Funeral Home of Hartford, Ala.

A memorial mass will be held Sat., March 17, 2018, beginning at 10 a.m. at Christ The King Catholic Church in Andalusia

 

EVELYN ROSE NORRIS

Mrs. Evelyn Rose Norris, age 87, of Wing, passed away on Fri., March 16, 2018.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sun., March 18, 2018, from Beda Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Beda Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30-8 p.m. on Saturday evening at Foreman Funeral Home.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Henderson of Wing; son, Stafford Norris of Wing; grandchildren, Christina (Troy) Smith, Michael Henderson, Antha Norris, Rosa Norris and Jeffrey Morrison; great-grandchildren, Owen Smith, Jacob Smith, Savannah Henderson, Brianna Rice, Cayden Henderson and Braylee Morrison; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Hubert and Antha Partain; husband, O.C. Norris and her brother, Robert (Bobby) Partain.

HENRY RILEY

Mr. Ralph Henry Riley, age 83, of Andalusia, passed away on Fri., March 16, 2018, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sun., March 18, 2018, from Carolina Baptist Church with the Rev.Keith Tankersley officiating. Interment will follow in Carolina Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday evening at Foreman Funeral Home. A short visitation will take place 30 minutes prior to services at the church.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Barton Riley; sons and daughters-in-law, Rhett and Linda Riley of Andalusia, Dodd and Jan Riley of Andalusia, and Brinn and Ashley Riley of Melbourne, Fla.; daughter and son-in-law, Penney and Joey Watson of Andalusia; 11 grandchildren, Rhett Riley, Zach Riley, Melissa (Daniel Collins), Chris Riley, Josh Riley, Morgan (Tyler) Smith, Brigham (Annika) Watson, Dalton Watson, Chase Riley, Trent Riley, and Logan Riley; one great-grandchild, Camilla Smith; a sister, Jane Wiggins of Andalusia; and brother and sister-in-law, Rhett E. and Jeanette Riley of Auburn, AL.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William Jennings Bryan and Lillian Riley, and brothers, Reginald Abner “Pete” Riley and James Andrew Riley.

Pallbearers will include: Rhett Riley, Zach Riley, Daniel Collins, Chris Riley, Tyler Smith, Brigham Watson, Dalton Watson and Tim Riley.
