Shelton W. Andrews

Shelton W. Andrews, 89, of Andalusia, passed away on Monday, March 26, 2018, at Andalusia Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 30, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Hunt officiating. The interment will follow in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Judy and Lonnie Carnley of Plant City, Fla., and Patricia Russell of Andalusia; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Carole Andrews of Brandon, Fla., and Jimmy and Martha Andrews of Andalusia; grandchildren, Daryl (Annie) Carnley, Michelle Andrews, Sean (Nicole) Andrews, Kacey (Sterling) Sasser, Kristi (Ray) O’Brien, and Kim (Seale) Caton; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edlow and Maybell Andrews, wife, Loraine Andrews, and sister, Jeanette Frost.

Pallbearers will be Billy Bickley, Donnie Lawson, Roy Barnes, David Wiggins, Robert Sutton, and James Sutton.

ELLEN CAROLYN SELF

Mrs. Ellen Carolyn Self, 72, of Opp, passed away Fri., March 23, 2018, at her residence.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Mon., March 26, at Carolina Baptist Church with Dr. Keith Tankersley officiating the service. The interment followed in Carolina Cemetery. Visitation was be Sunday at Foreman Funeral Home and at the church 30 minutes prior to the services.

She is survived by the two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and John Etheridge of Opp, and Melissa and Ashley Dean of Curtis, Ala.; two sons and daughter-in-law, John and Tammy Self of Pace, Fla., and Jessie Self of Andalusia; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Walton Harris and Jackie Harris of Andalusia; one sister, Sabra Barnes of Andalusia.

Pallbearers were Ben Clark, Billy Piggott, David Jones, Garrett Davis, Jimmy Cox and John Colvin.

ELMA JEAN CARR

Mrs. Elma Jean Carr, 79, of Andalusia, passed away Sat., March 24, 2018, at Andalusia Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wed., March 28, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Kevin Wilburn officiating the service. The interment will follow in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30-8 p.m. Tuesday at Foreman Funeral Home.

She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Stewart and Tammy Carr of Tuscaloosa, and Robert Carr of Andalusia; her grandchildren, Jackson Carr; two sisters and brother-in-law, Judy Burchfield of Opp, Ina Kate and James Mitchell of Troy; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Lynn Stewart of Pensacola, and Randy and Andrew Stewart of Merced, Cal.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Willie Clyde Carr, and daughter, Pamela Gay Carr.

Pallbearers will be Lewin Lloyd, Brad Carr, Brandon Carr, Travis Bogart, Donny Smith, and Ty Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Taylor and Brett Carr.

 

MARIE COOK SMITH

Mrs. Marie Cook Smith, 87, of Andalusia, passed away Fri., March 23, 2018, at her residence.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 27, at Andalusia Full Gospel Tabernacle with Brother Jerry Pettus officiating the service. The interment followed in Red Oak Cemetery. Visitation was Mon., March 26, from 6-8 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home.

She is survived by five daughters and son-in-law, Marilyn and Larry Matthews of Andalusia, Angie Bartley of Red Level, Lucretia Aughtman of Pleasant Home, Paula Colman of Flat Rock, Ala., and Laura Abney of Greenville; two sons and daughter-in-law, Harry and Jill Smith of Andalusia, and Rodger Smith of Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by two grandsons, Thomas Coleman and Cameron Smith, and a great-grandchild, Blake Jackson.

Pallbearers will be Cole Smith, Cody Smith, Randy Aughtman, Joey Cook, Rickey Cook and Nickey Cook.

 

EVA PHILLIPS

Mrs. Eva Phillips of Florala (Yellow River Community) passed away Sat., March 24, 2018, in a Dothan hospital. She was born Oct. 27, 1936, to Dallas and Bertha Phillips in Geneva County, Alabama.

She is survived by her son, Ken (Paula) Phillips of DeFuniak Springs; her daughter, Rhonda (Steve) Geohagan of Florala; her nine grandchildren, Katina Barrosa of Orlando, Sabrina (Robert) Davis of Panama City, Presten Sporko of Panama City, Matt (Coty) Geohagan of Brent, Alabama, Mark (Whitney) Geohagan of Andalusia, Paige (Johnathan) Campbell, Ashley (Alex) Eaton, Hannah Phillips (Calan Sefo) and Madison Phillips, all of DeFuniak Springs; her nine great-grandchildren, Nicole, Michael, Thomas, Sophie, Marlee Kate, Mitt, Saylor, Griffin and Asa; her brothers, Winifred Phillips of Enterprise and Bobby Phillips of Florala; her sisters, Eloise Cawthon of Florala and Betty Cox of Pensacola.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Lester Phillips; her daughter, Barbara Sporko; her brother, Donald Phillips; and her sister, Pauline Price.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tues., March 27, 2018, at State Line Church of Christ in Florala, with Minister Robert Harrison officiating. Interment will follow at North Creek Cemetery. Keahey Funeral Home of Lockhart is in charge of arrangements. The family received friends Monday at Keahey Funeral Home, 2871 AL Hwy 55, Florala, AL 36442, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
