Troy University hosted the Chess and SET Tournament for the Gifted students in the Southeast Alabama Regional Gifted Network on Monday, May 7th. Shown are the students from Straughn Elementary School’s and Straughn Middle School’s Gifted Education Program who participated: Kylee Brown, Mallory Hall, Gentry Powell, Christian Pate, Kalyn Cauley, Alex Joyner, Isabella Williamson, Cameron Raley, Carter Straughn, Ryan Cobb, and Christian Kime.

Winners at the tournament included Gentry Powell, Isabella Williamson, and Mallory Hal, all third places in their grade levels for SET; Cameron Raley, third place in chess for 5th grade; and Ryan Cobb, second place chess for 6th grade.
