A Samson man died Thursday afternoon in a one-vehicle wreck on Hwy. 134 east of Opp.

Captain Tracy D. Nelson of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said   Willard Leon Haynes Jr. 47, died with the tractor trailer he was operating left the highway, striking several trees, and overturned. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Opp News reported Haynes was driving for Pilgrim’s Pride.

The crash occurred approximately eight miles east of Opp in Coffee County.

The Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate the accident.
