The Florala High School basketball coaches will host a youth basketball camp on Wednesday the W.S. Harlan Elementary School gym.

“The camp is open to any child in Covington County that would like to come,” Wildcats’ boys head coach Troy Turman said. “Our goal for the camp for the kids to have a good time, but also inspire them to continue to practice basketball outside of the camp.”

The camp begins on Wednesday and runs through Friday.

There is a $25 registration fee and children may sign up the day of the camp.

Turman said the camp is a complete group effort to put on the camp.

Camp instructors will be Turman, girls head coach David Bass, W.S. Harlan P.E. teacher Tyler Zessin and assistant coaches Author Coleman and Dustin Hinson.

Turman said the instructors would focus on the basics of basketball.

“We are going to focus on things like dribbling, shooting and passing,” Turman said. “We want to focus a lot on the fundamentals, but we will also incorporate in some fun competitive games for the kids. We are excited about the camp and just want the kids to have a good time and learn a little about basketball.”
