James V. “Buddie” Sanders

Mr. James V. “Buddie” Sanders, age 94, of Andalusia, passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at his residence.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 23, in Goodhope Cemetery with the Rev. Gary Holloway officiating the service. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home.

He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Erlene and Frank Lee of Midwest City, OK, and Merlene LaPan of Andalusia; sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Mary Jane Sanders of Gainesville, GA, and James and Lynn Sanders of Flowery Branch, GA; daughter-in-law, Kinnie Sanders of Flowery Branch, GA; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Jeanette Sanders of Tucker, GA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

His wife of 74 years, Olene Sanders, preceded him in death by only nine months. He is also preceded by his parents, J.W. and Annie Lou Sanders; son, Jake Sanders; son-in-law, Bob LaPan; great grandson, Pierre Gabriel Koellner; and sister, Estie Cobb.

Pallbearers will be Rob Lee, Michael Johnson, Phillip Sanders, Jamie Sanders, Veston Koellner, and Richard Myers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Marshall Lee and Ethan Sims.

The family would like to extend a thank you to Dr. JoAnn Smith and staff, Comfort Care Hospice, LHC Home Health, family, friends, and neighbors. Also a special thanks to Diane Knox and her team, Brenton Jennings, Haley Ramsey, and Linda Knox.

MONICA LICSKO

Monica Licsko of Roswell, Ga., was born on December 27, 1972, in Andalusia and passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family and friends on June 16, 2018. Monica was a member at Mount Pisgah UMC where she volunteered with Children’s Ministry.

Monica was a teacher for 21 years in Dekalb County Schools. She had a B.S. from Auburn University, Masters from Troy University and Education Specialist Degree from the University of West Georgia. Monica was ‘Teacher of the Year’ for two different schools in Dekalb County.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 11 years, Jamie Licsko; loving daughters Brooke (9) and Aubree (7) Licsko; parents Jackie and Hilda Hall; mother-in-law Pat Licsko; grandmother Sybel Bennett.

Memorial service will be at Mount Pisgah UMC, 2850 Old Alabama Road, Johns Creek, GA. Visitation will begin June 24, 2018, at 1 p.m., with a funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. Interment will be immediately following at Green Lawn Cemetery, 950 Mansell Rd. Roswell, Ga. 30076.

DORTHEY M. LUMPKIN

Dorthey M. Lumpkin, age 72, of Andalusia, passed away at her residence Wed., June 20, 2018.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., today, Fri., June 22, 2018, at Keahey

Funeral Home Chapel of Andalusia with Rev. Ed Ganus officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery in Rose Hill. Keahey Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

The family will received friends from 6 p.m., until 8 p.m., Thu., June 21, 2018, at Keahey Funeral Home.
