A different look

Longtime Andalusia High School football fans will have to adjust their thinking a little bit when the 2018 season opens. The scoreboard, which also includes a video board, will be in the opposite end of the field than is traditional. Wyatt Sasser Construction, the general contractor for the stadium renovation, placed poles and a “mock” board in the approximate location for board of education members to see before the final decision was made Monday night. The “mock scoreboard” – two poles strung with black fabric, is to the left of the goal post and plaza in this photograph.

At the time the decision was made, placing the scoreboard in the traditional location would have required taking up sidewalks and artificial turf. The Bulldogs’ first home game will be on Aug. 31, the second game of the season, when they will host Trinity Presbyterian. =
