Charged were:
• Bomaro V. Head, 20, charged with murder and held on a $500,000 bond.
• Dayshawn D. Siler, 19, charged with murder and held on a $500,000 bond.
• Kali Jamar Siler, 22, charged with murder and held on a $500,000 bond.
• Kenyatta Carstarphen, 18, charged with murder and held on a $500,000 bond.

The OPD’s investigation began on Wednesday, when the department was notified of a vehicle parked behind an abandoned house on Walding Road. They determined the vehicle, a gray 2008 Chrysler Sebring, belonged to Louis Swinger, 36, who had last been seen in Elba on Saturday, July 7, 2018, when he said he was gong to Opp.

Subsequent investigation revealed that in the early morning hours last Saturday, Swinger was lured into a apartment on Hardage Circle where he was shot and killed. The involved individuals then dumped his vehicle behind the house on Walding Road and hid the victim’s body in a wooded area at the intersection of Cantaline Road and Woodall Mill Road.

A tip about a car parked behind an abandoned house began the investigation.

Law enforcement officers located Swinger’s body at approximately 8:15 Friday night.

Four males, ages 22, 20, 19 and 18, were charged with murder at about 3:45 a.m. today, Sat., July 14. The OPD has not released their identities, and the investigation is continuing. The Star-News will update this story when their names are released.

The Opp Police Department extended appreciation to the State Bureau Of Investigation, the 22nd Judicial Drug Task Force, the Covington County District Attorneys Office, ALEA Troopers, the Department Of Probation and Parole and the Opp Fire Department for their invaluable assistance.
