JOHN L. DUKES

Mr. John L. “Johnny” Dukes, age 75, of Opp, died Sat., July 14, 2018, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan.

Johnny is survived by his wife, Phyllis Sams Dukes; daughters and sons-in-law, Donna (David) Walker and Sharon (Tom) Roeser; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth (Bobbie) Dukes; grandchildren, Allen Walker, John Walker, Amellia (Tyler) Brackin, and Hunter (Savannah) Roeser.

A funeral service for Johnny was conducted 11 a.m., Mon., July 16, 2018, at Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel in Opp, with Bro. Eddie Spann officiating. Interment followed at Peaceful Acres Memorial Gardens in Opp. Visitation was one hour prior to the service. Serving as pall bearers were Steve Roeser, Mitch Blair, Hunter Roeser, John Walker, Allen Walker and Tyler Brackin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Union Grove Assembly of God Church.

Wyatt Funeral Home of Opp, Ala., is serving the Dukes family.

 

Joel Scott Williams

Mr. Joel “Joey” Scott Williams, age 58, of Opp died Thursday, July 12, 2018 ,at his residence.

Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Gail Jacobs Williams; daughter and son-in-law, Kristen Williams Albrecht and Luke; sons and daughters-in-law, Chad Williams and Heather, Spencer Cosby and Kristin and Isaac Cosby and Katherine; mother, Jo Ann Williams; brother and sister-in-law, Phil Williams and Sherry; sister and brother-in-law, Donna Pinson and Jimmy; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Joel R. Williams.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2018, from Blue Springs Baptist Church with burial following in the Blue Springs Cemetery. Visitation was Saturday evening Wyatt Funeral Home and at the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Derwood Cleland and Justin Sasser officiated. Serving as pallbearers were Cory Spurlin, Jay Spurlin, Terry Hudgens, Jeffery Morrison, Greg Taylor and Brandon Bledsoe.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Blue Springs Baptist Church.

 

JACKQUELINE “HALEY” HENDERSON

Ms. Jacqueline “Haley” Henderson, age 25, of Andalusia passed away Sun., July 15, 2018, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Ms. Henderson was an active member of Zion Hill Baptist Church and worked as a sitter in people’s homes. She was a “Country Girl” at heart and especially loved to fish and spend time with her six-year-old daughter.

She is survived by her daughter, Madilyn Stoudemire of Andalusia; her father, Brian (Wendy) Henderson; her mother, Jennifer McDuffie and Ronnie Yates; her brother, Johnny Henderson of Andalusia; sister, Emily Henderson of Andalusia; paternal grandparents, Galford and Bertha Henderson of Andalusia and Paul and Debra Henderson of Andalusia; maternal grandfather, Johnny McDuffie of Andalusia; nieces, Brooklyn and Lyla and nephew, Zander. She was preceded in death by a maternal grandmother, Jackie McDuffie.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thu., July 19, 2018, at Zion Hill Baptist Church. The Rev. Roger Lee will officiate. Interment will follow in the Zion Hill Baptist Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at Keahey Funeral Home.

CORA SUE WILLIAMSON

Cora Sue Williamson, age 78, of Dozier, passed away Sun., July 16, 2018, at Andalusia Manor nursing facility.

Sue is survived by her husband of 60 years, Grover Williamson of Dozier; her children, Lisa (Cesar) Talavera of Fountain, CO, Patricia (Jim) Yard of Andalusia, Gary (Rena) Williamson of Andalusia, and Susan “Sudzy” Williamson of Dozier; her six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; her brother, Clarence Benbow; and her special friend, Melissa Owens.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Carrie (Warrick) Atwell, an infant son, Anthony Williamson, and her brother, Lamar Atwell.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Wed., July 18, 2018, at First Freewill Baptist Church of Dozier with Rev. Rocky Pearce officiating. Serving as pallbearers are: Timmy Warrick, Terry Warrick, Richard Williamson, Michael Williamson, Waylon Catrett, Roy Welch, an Chad Howell.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m., until 8 p.m., today, Tue., July 17, 2018, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel of Andalusia.

GAIL EHTERIDGE ADAMS

Mrs. Gail Etheridge Adams, 64, of Opp, passed away Sun., July 15, 2018, at Mizell Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Wed., July 18, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Foreman Funeral Home.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Ashley Beck and Richard Odom, of Opp, Austin Davis of Andalusia; two great-grandchildren, Aaron Odom and Wade Odom; a sister, Toni Etheridge Miller and husband, Mark of Madison; one nephew, Andrew James Miller.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William Adams; a daughter, Jaime Prestwood; and parents, James H. and Estelle Etheridge.

Pallbearers will be Austin Davis, Christopher Adams, Richard Odom, Randy Odom, Andrew Miller, Mark Miller.
