DUDLEY MORENO ROGERS

Dudley Moreno Rogers, age 83, of Santa Rosa Beach passed away at home on Aug., 1, 2018. He was born in Milton, Fla., on May 29, 1935. In his early years, he lived in Milton before his family moved to Fort Walton Beach.

He was preceded in death by his wife, and the love of his life of 65 years, Noberta Gonzalez Rogers. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Scarritt Solomon and Inez Rogers, as well as his older brother, Sylveston (Sil) Rogers. His brother, Holley Rogers, survives him, as well as his four children: Rose Marie Spafford (Mark), Judith (Judy) Rogers Watson (Jeff), Kenneth Dudley Rogers (Sonja), and Jeffery Rogers (fiancée Susan). Dudley has eight grandchildren: Jamie Pitts, Jonathan Spafford, Lindsey Burns (Jeff), Lauren Freel (Duncan), Ashley Watson, Lewis Olsen Rogers, Kyle Rogers, and Danielle Rogers. He was looking forward to the birth of his first great-grandchild in November.

Dudley and Noberta spent their retirement years living in Babbie, Ala., where they had many friends from church and they loved to fish on their ponds, pick blueberries, and pecans. They were members of the First United Methodist Church in Opp, but recently returned to Dudley’s native roots in Florida living in Santa Rosa Beach.

Dudley was a charter member of the Destin BPOE #2688, was a past-exalted ruler and represented the Panhandle where he was a past District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler and a state vice president. He was also a member of the Krewe of Billy Bowlegs. He loved hunting, fishing, and country music. When he was younger, he was a high school sports referee. He loved his two dogs, Sara and Bruno.

A funeral service will be held on Fri., Aug. 10, at 1 p.m., at Emerald Coast Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for visitation and fellowship to celebrate Dudley’s life from noon, until the time of service.

Burial will follow at the Destin Cemetery. His family would like to thank all those who cared for him as well as the many friends he made along the way.

NAOMI LEE KNOX

Mrs. Naomi Lee Knox of Andalusia passed away Fri., Aug., 3, 2018, in the Florala Nursing Facility. She was 84.

Mrs. Knox was a life-long resident of Covington County and a long time active member of East Highland Baptist Church.

Survivors include her brother, Jimmy (Jodie) Powell of Paxton and her sister, Pauline Ray of Paxton. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Knox; her parents, J.C. Powell and Rosa Bell (Medley) Powell; her brother, Douglas Powell; and her sister, Nell Ward.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tue., August 7, 2018, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel of Andalusia with the Rev. Donnie Powell officiating. Burial will follow at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home (10 a.m., until 11 a.m.)

SIBLE ANN ANDREWS

Ms. Sible Ann Andrews, age 73, of Opp passed away Wed., Aug. 1, 2018, at her residence. She was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Andalusia.

She loved quilting, sewing, reading and shopping.

She is survived by her daughter Patricia (Rev. Chester) Watson of Opp; her granddaughter, GraceAnn Watson of Opp; and her sister, Vivian Jackson of Horn

Hill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Sullivan Andrews; her parents, Q.P. and Nellie Ruth (Langford) Linzey; her sister, Marie Bringhurst; her brother, Herman Linzey; and her stepson, Wesley Howard Andrews.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Fri., Aug., 3, 2018, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Harrell officiating. Burial will follow at Harmony

Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are: Cody Madere, Gary Robinson, Ryan McLeod, Caleb McLeod, Randall Griffin, and Carson Powers.

MICHAEL SCOFIELD

Mr. Michael Scofield, age 53, of Florala, passed away Wed., Aug., 1, 2018, at his home. He worked for the City of Florala, loved fishing the lakes and rivers around Florala and Covington County and hunting, and especially enjoyed working on his farm and with his cows. He was an avid Alabama football fan.

Michael is survived by his mother, Lorene Scofield of Florala; his wife, Melissa

Scofield of Florala; his children, Brittany and Nick Lennard of Crestview, Fla., and

Christopher and Jordan Cosby of Opp; and his grandchildren: Addison, Sydney,

Hance, Graclyn and Thomas. He was preceded in death by his father, J.C. Scofield.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., today, Sat., Aug., 4, 2018, at Keahey

Funeral Home Chapel of Lockhart with the Rev. Johnny White officiating. Burial will follow in North Creek Cemetery in the North Creek Community.
