The Andalusia Police Department has identified suspects in two unrelated shootings that occurred last week. The two shootings were not related, a spokesperson said.

According to a press release issued Tuesday afternoon, APD investigators have three suspects in a Saturday night shooting on Oak Street. A warrant charting one person with three counts of attempted murder and three counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling has been issued, according to the APD.

“The names of the three suspects are being withheld pending further investigation and possible charges against the other two,” the press release stated.

APD Chief Paul Hudson stressed that the Saturday night incident was not related to a similar incident that occurred mid-day on Monday, August 6, on Snead Street. A possible suspect has been identified in that case, the press release stated.

Chief Paul Hudson stated, “This violence will not be tolerated in Andalusia and we will do whatever is necessary to apprehend those responsible.

“I would like to commend the officers and those who have assisted them, ALEA, the 22nd Judicial Drug Task Force, Opp Police Department, and Elba Police Department in their hard work in bringing these individuals to justice.”
