On Aug. 17, 2018, agents with the 22nd Judicial Drug Task Force along with the Alabama Department of Human Resources, went to a home on First Avenue in Andalusia near the high school, in reference to narcotics use and sales in front of children.

While at the residence, agents made contact with Clinton Laquan Staley and two juvenile children.

Agents could immediately smell the odor of marijuana coming from the residence.

Agents detained Staley and applied and received a search warrant for the residence.

During a search of the residence, agents located more than one pound of marijuana, some of it being found in the floor of the closet in the children’s bedroom.

Clinton Laquan Staley was arrested and charged with two counts of chemical endangerment of a child, possession of marijuana first, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Staley’s bond was set at $1,239,000.
