2 arrested in Oak Street shooting

The Andalusia Police Department confirmed in a press release Sunday the arrests of two Mississippi men in a shooting incident that occurred in the Oak Street area of Andalusia on Sat., August 11.
Santonio Davis, 18, and Tyrone Davis, Jr. 23, both of Moss Point, Mississippi, face charges of three (3) count of Attempted Murder (Class A Felony) and three (3) counts of Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling (Class B Felony). A third suspect has not yet been identified. The individuals are currently being held waiting extradition in a Mississippi Detention Center.
“Let this be a lesson to all the individuals that want to bring violent behavior and discourse into our city,” Police Chief Paul Hudson said in a prepared statement. ” These types of acts will not be tolerated, and we will utilize the assistance of all available resources, increasing patrols, other law enforcement departments and agencies to make sure those responsible are charged and arrested.”

Hudson praised the APD Criminal Investigations Division and lead investigator Cody Warren, and expressed his appreciation to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency -SBI, the Gautier (Mississippi) Police Department , Pascagoula(Mississippi) Police Department,  Lost Point(Mississippi) Police Department, Jackson County (Mississippi) Sheriff’s Office, and US Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force (Montgomery, AL & Gulfport, MS offices).

“Throughout the investigation, information was shared of ongoing activity in the area of Oak Street that has gone unreported,” Hudson said in a statement. “As a reminder, for action to be taken on a crime, a crime must be reported.
