City’s 3rd drive-by shooting reported

The Andalusia Police Department is investigating an apparent drive-by shooting, the third one reported this month.

According to a press release from the department, APD officers responded to a report of a gunshot in the area of Pugh Street at 11:57 p.m. Wednesday, August 29.

“Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with the resident at 308 Pugh Street,” the release stated. “The resident refused to cooperate with officers and would provide no information on the incident.”

Officer observed what appeared to be a bullet hole in the front of the house, the release stated. No one was injured.

Officers also spoke with the caller who lives on an adjacent street. The caller could provide no other information other than a shot was heard, the APD said.

On Monday, August 6, the APD investigated a drive-by shooting that occurred just before noon on Snead Street. No arrests have been made in that incident. Police were looking for information about a black, four-door Chevrolet Silverado pickup with a chrome package and a small red car of unknown make/model.

A Mississippi man is charged with three counts of Attempted Murder (Class A Felony) and three counts of Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling (Class B Felony) for a drive-by shooting that occurred at approximately 9 p.m. on Saturday, August 11.
