Olympic runner to keynote annual Sav-A-Life event

Olympic runner Jim Ryun and his wife, Anne, will be the guest speakers at the 27th annual Sav-A-Life banquet. Ryun is a three-time Olympic runner who won a Silver Medal in the 1,500 meter race at the 1968 Summer Olympics. He was the first high school athlete to ever run a mile in under four minutes, and has appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated seven times.

Ryun served five terms as a U.S. Congressman from Kansas. He and his wife, Anne, are charter members of Falls Church Falls Church Anglicans for Life.

Sav-A-Life is a non-profit Christian ministry helping women in crisis pregnancies and teaching life choices like abstinence to youth. It is our mission to be a positive force in our community, reaching people with the love of Christ and bringing people to value the sanctity of human life. The Kiwanis Community Center is located on the Hwy 55 South Bypass in Andalusia.

The banquet is Monday, September 17, 2018, at 6:30 p.m. in the Kiwanis Community Center in Andalusia.
