Allison Vuyovich is the featured artist, and her painting of Springdale will be auctioned.

Vuyovich is a native of Andalusia and a graduate of Andalusia High School. She attended Huntingdon College where she earned a bachelor’s degree in religion, and Duke University where she earned a master’s of divinity.

While at Duke she gained horticulture experience while working at Sarah P. Duke Gardens, and by traveling across the country to work with churches and non-profit organizations with gardening initiatives focused on providing fresh produce to the most vulnerable members of the community. In 2017, Vuyovich moved back to Andalusia and has put her “green thumb” to work for the City of Andalusia. In addition to working with the Horticulture Department, Vuyovich also manages the Andalusia Farmers Market.

Vuyovich said that she has always enjoyed painting and prefers working with acrylic and watercolor. She prides herself on having been a student of many of Andalusia’s well-known artists, and is thankful to be a part of a community that values such creativity.
