Big Money time: Tickets are $20 at Straughn High
The Straughn High School Band Boosters is selling Big Money Tickets in the group’s annual fundraiser.
Band Booster Meagan Pinkard said a $20 ticket buys three chances to win in a drawing for $2,000, $1,000 or $500.
“Each student is asked to sell at least 10 tickets,” Pinkard said. “We have 55 kids marching this year, so we should sell at least 550 tickets.”
The tickets are available from Band Boosters who are selling SHS football programs just inside the gates on Friday nights, or in the concession stands.
Band boosters fund a number of activities for students, Pinkard said.
“This past Saturday, they went to Troy’s Band Day,” she said. “We fed them and had Chick-fil-A cater the meal. We also help with new concert instruments, and sponsor students to honor bands, and help offset the transportation and lodging costs.”
