The Pleasant Home Eagles (0-2, 0-1) look to get things on track as they prepare for a region showdown with the Red Level Tigers (1-1, 1-0) tonight in Red Level.

“I love these types of games,” Pleasant Home head coach Rick Mercer said. “This is a rivalry game and I expect it to be very competitive.”

Mercer said that he is impressed with how well Red Level has been playing.

“Red Level looks like a different team this year,” Mercer said. “They are very good and they are very well coached. Coach (Kenny) Skipper has them going in the right direction.”

Mercer said the team is ready for tonight’s game.

“The kids are very excited for this game,” Mercer said. “It’s going to be a great atmosphere. They got a big win last week so they are going to be excited. Hopefully, the good guys win and I think that’s going be Pleasant Home.”

The series is tied 5-5, but the Eagles came away with a 38-14 win in 2018.

Pleasant Home is 0-2 to start the season after falling to Elberta (27-18) and then Elba (28-14).

Red Level lost its first game of the season to Zion Chapel (40-33), but picked up a big win over McKenzie (12-6) last week to open up region play.

Kickoff between Red Level and Pleasant Home is set for 7 p.m.
