The Opp Board of Education voted Thursday to expel an OHS student for up to a year.

The board met in closed session for eight minutes to discuss the student’s misconduct before voting to approve the superintendent’s recommendation that the student be expelled.

Superintendent Michael Smithart said the student had “continuously violated the Opp City School’s code of conduct.”
