KENNETH “BUTCH” WAYNE BROOK

Mr. Kenneth “Butch” Wayne Brook was born in Dozier, on Dec. 26, 1943. He passed into eternal rest on Wed., Sept. 12, 2018, at his residence in Waynesville, N.C.

He spent time in the Air Force but returned home after the death of his father in order to help his mother run the farm. He worked at Taylor Parts and later for Alabama Electric Company, until his retirement in 2008. He was diagnosed with cancer in 1991 but that never slowed him down. He continued farming and working full time until 2007. He and his wife, Barbara, have lived in Waynesville, N.C., since they married in 2008 and have enjoyed traveling and gardening together.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tue., Sept. 18, 2018, at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Brother John Hunt officiating the service. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. A visitation will be held Monday evening from 5:30 to 8 at Foreman Funeral Home.

Mr. Brook is survived by his wife, Barbara Brook of Waynesville, N.C.; daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Clark Murray of Birmingham and their daughters, Ella Clark and Kate; son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Dawn Brook Jr. of Troy and their daughters, Tatum and Jaicee; step-daughter, Kimberly Engle of Melbourne, Fla., and her daughter, Kaitlyn; aunt, Erris Croom of Columbus, Ga.; and numerous cousins.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Cleo Rawls Brook, father, Rex Brook, and infant brother, Billy.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for memorials to be made to the American Cancer Society.

LIZZIE L. HENDERSON

Mrs. Lizzie L. Henderson, age 88, of Andalusia, passed away on Thurs., Sept. 13, 2018, at Opp Health and Rehab.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., today, Sat., Sep. 15, 2018, at Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Justin Sasser officiating the service, interment will follow in North Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services at the funeral home.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Patricia Bulger of Andalusia; Debbie and Craig Buchanan of Dothan; grandchildren, Jimmy Bulger, Bryan Bulger, Lori Crawford, and Heather Morris; great grandchildren, Taylor Bulger, Hayley Russell, Sydney Bulger, Casey Bulger, Brady Crawford, and Blake Crawford; sisters and brothers-in-law, Bobbie and James Phillips, Ann Stephens, and Annis and Jack Hunt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
