APD has 2 more in custody for shootings

Andalusia Police Department has two more suspects in custody in connection with recent drive-by type shootings in the city.

Investigator Cody Warren said the investigation into a shooting on Oak Street on August 11, 2018, revealed that a drug deal turned into a robbery which resulted in the victims later retaliating with a shooting incident on Oak Street.

Marteez LeMar Desowne Wilkerson, 18, of Andalusia, was arrested Tuesday and charged with first degree robbery and fourth degree theft of property. Wilkerson is being held in the Covington County Jail under $165,000 bond. One other suspect, a juvenile who was with Wilkerson at the time, has been identified and a second arrest is forthcoming.

Santonio D. Davis of Moss Point, Mississippi was previously arrested in this incident. He was charged with three counts of attempted murder and three counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling. Two other suspects, also juveniles who were with Davis at the time, have been identified and arrests are forthcoming.

In an unrelated case, Martin L. Watson of Andalusia turned himself in on Tuesday morning, Investigator Jody Scott said. Watson, age 29, was being sought in connection with a shooting incident on Pugh Street on August 29, 2018.

Scott said Watson was charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling, a Class B felony. He is being held at the Covington County Jail under $20,000 bond.
