The Andalusia Junior Woman’s Club will have plenty of activities for families at its fall Three Notch Market next Saturday, Oct. 6, beginning at 9 a.m.

“We will have a huge kids area with bouncy houses and fall festival-type games,” organizer Aubrey McKee said. “We also have a pumpkin contest and other activities.”

Pumpkin contest

Family-friendly decorated pumpkins can be submitted between 8:30 and 11 a.m. at Springdale Estate. Cash prizes will be awarded in multiple categories, including best painted, best carved, most creative, most unique design and silliest, with categories for kindergarten through sixth grade, and seventh through twelfth grades.

Winners will be announced at 2 p.m., and you must be present to win.

Christmas ornaments

Custom Creations by Lora will return to Andalusia to help youngsters create personalized ornaments and tiles at Three Notch Market.

Ornaments and tiles are $20 each. The child’s handprint will be stamped on the ornament. This process only takes around 5 to10 minutes. Ornaments will then be glazed and fired, and will be available for pick-up in three weeks.

Entertainment

Jeff and Jacob Sellers, Taylor Weeks and Christopher Smith will perform throughout the day.

Art

Allie Vuyovich is the featured artist. Vuyovich is an Andalusia native who works in acrylic and watercolor. She prides herself on having been a student of many of Andalusia’s artists. She also works with the City of Andalusia’ horticulture department and manages the Farmers Market.

The AJWC is still accepting vendors for next weekend’s event, and encourages local businesses to have a presence there. Vendors include Rug lady Sue Coleman; Lynsey Williams with Vintage Vixen; Amy Findley Bowers’ art; The Lomenicks with Iron Works; J Tremaine Designs; and Fabric Bowls and Baskets.
